The Upcoming iPhone Ultra Might Look Exactly Like This Apple Watch Model

The iPhone Ultra case’s increased thickness necessitates a bigger internal battery.

Apple has been considering introducing a new, premium iPhone alongside future Pro and Pro Max versions. One designer has taken it upon himself to imagine what such a smartphone may look like.

By fusing design elements from the Apple Watch Ultra with a smaller projected iPhone Pro model, which he describes as being “beyond 12mm thick – the Ultra idea,” German industrial designer Jonas Daehnert produced this impressive-looking prototype.

Reportedly, Daehnert’s titanium iPhone case has rounded sides and a flat top rim that lies flush with the display, much like Apple’s more durable Apple Watch. Other places have the volume up/down and side buttons that stick out like the watch’s crown guard. The case’s increased thickness necessitates a bigger internal battery.

A sturdy ring/silent switch, a programmable action button on the bottom left, and a USB-C port on the bottom with an identical “International Orange” accent, sat between extended ones speaker grilles, are additional elements of the Ultra design language that were carried over into Daehnert’s concept. If the proposal was posted on Twitter, Daehnert allowed it and said, “I have no idea about all the leaks. It was only a test to determine if the design language of the Watch Ultra could be modified.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple has thought of releasing a brand-new, premium iPhone alongside the Pro and Pro Max versions in 2024 at the earliest. The smartphone would fall within the iPhone 16 range or later based on this era.

Gurman had predicted that the iPhone 15 Ultra will “perhaps” replace the iPhone 15 Pro Max this year, but he has now changed his mind and now believes that Apple may release an even more expensive “Ultra” model above both Pro models, maybe as early as next year. Gurman said that the device will have a better camera, a quicker CPU, a bigger screen, and maybe no ports for Lightning or USB-C. He said that it is “expensive” in comparison to the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which starts at $1,099.
